Omar Khan is Chief Strategy Officer & SVP of Products and Services for Samsung Telecommunications America (Samsung Mobile). Khan is responsible for developing Samsung Mobile’s business strategies for wireless handsets, infrastructure and business communications systems. Additionally, Khan has oversight of technology, content & services and products.

Prior to joining Samsung, Khan spent eight years at Motorola, where he most recently held the role of Vice President, Global Supply Chain for the Mobile Devices Business. In this role, he managed business operations in 36 countries.

Khan has been recognized by Crain’s Business Magazine as a “40 under 40”. This award recognizes 40 talented leaders under the age of 40 in various industries and professions including technology, financial services, politics, entertainment, etc.

Khan holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Khan completed his graduate work at the Sloan School of Management in the field of System Dynamics.

Jon Giacomin

Jon Giacomin is executive vice president of Pharmaceutical Operations, a position he has held since July 2008. He is responsible for efficient and responsive warehouse operations at 24 distribution centers, cost-effective inventory management and inventory optimisation strategies, the national logistics center, pharmaceutical repackaging and operational excellence. Previously, Jon served as senior vice president of Inventory Management for the Healthcare Supply Chain Services segment, a position he held for two years. Jon joined Cardinal Health in the Pharmaceutical Repackaging business and served as its vice president and general manager before being promoted to regional vice president of Pharmaceutical Distribution for the Pacific North region.

Jon began his career in the Navy, where he spent five years in engineering roles. Afterwards, Jon worked for Griffith Micro Science and Sterigenics, holding a number of positions of increasing responsibility including project engineer and vice president of Operations. Jon holds a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Notre Dame and a master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Chicago.

Mike Fleming

As Corporate Vice President of Motorola Mobile Devices supply chain organisation, Mike Fleming oversees several end-to-end value chain responsibilities, including procurement, new product introduction, manufacturing, customer fulfillment and overall supply chain business operations. Prior to being appointed to his current position, Fleming was Corporate Vice President of Mobile Devices supply chain business operations (SCBO). Responsibilities included supply chain demand and supply planning, customer and distribution operations and overall supply chain delivery, cost and inventory performance for the business.

Fleming, a 20-year veteran of Motorola, has held numerous leadership positions throughout his tenure at the company.  Mike has provided supply chain business operations leadership for two other significant businesses within Motorola, namely the Government & Public Safety (G&PS) business and the Networks and Enterprise (N&E) business.

Before his diverse experiences in supply chain business operations, Mike was vice president of electronic manufacturing services/original design manufacturer (EMS/ODM) operations, where he was directed to establish and lead the EMS and ODM operations for Motorola’s worldwide businesses. Responsibilities included defining and executing a new global operational model to more effectively manage all manufactured subassemblies and final products to Motorola and its customers.

Mike has worked in a variety of supply chain management roles focused on new product and manufacturing technologies, multi-plant management and regional supply chain operations – including transformation efforts that led to increased outsourcing and the consolidation of our Americas manufacturing footprint for the former G&PS business.

Active in the community with organisations such as the United Way, Mike has both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin at Madison.

Angel Mendez is Senior Vice President of Customer Value Chain Management at Cisco. He leads a global organization responsible for accelerating innovation and value for Cisco customers and ensuring that they have an unrivalled, end-to-end experience. This includes responsibility for customer service and support operations, corporate quality and quality management, collaborative planning and new product introduction, sourcing and supplier management, manufacturing, order management, delivery, and product reuse and recycling.

Mendez brings more than 24 years of management experience to Cisco, along with proven expertise in developing and implementing comprehensive strategies to improve operations and supply chain performance. Prior to Cisco, he served as Senior Vice President of Global Operations for PalmOne Inc., where his operational excellence and transformation program fuelled the company’s turnaround and return to profitability.

A graduate of General Electric’s Manufacturing Management Program, Mendez served 11 years with GE in increasingly responsible manufacturing and supply-chain management assignments. At Allied Signal he led the aerospace sector’s international sourcing operation and later led supply-chain efforts at Aerospace Equipment Systems, then AlliedSignal’s largest business unit. While at Citigroup, he served as a division executive for global procurement, leading the consolidation of supply-chain management activities during the merger of Citicorp and Travelers Group. At Gateway Inc. he was responsible for global supply-chain management, facilitating operational improvements by upgrading the supply-chain organization, improving supplier quality, and implementing Six Sigma.

Mendez’s business background includes extensive international business experience in Canada, Europe, Latin America, and Asia. He was named by Business 2.0 Magazine to the “Business 2.0 Dream Team—All Star Executives any Company Would Kill For.” In 2005, Hispanic Business Magazine placed him on its list of the “20 Most Influential Hispanic Executives in Corporate America.” He was also recently named on MACSA’s list of the “100 Most Influential Latinos in Silicon Valley.”

Mendez serves on the board of directors of the Supply Chain Management Institute at the University of San Diego and the Lafayette College Board of Trustees. He is also a member of the board of directors at Springboard Forward, a Silicon Valley-based non-profit organization dedicated to deploying innovative coaching and career development programs for low wage earners. A native of Cuba, Mendez holds a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from Lafayette College and a master’s degree in business administration from the Crummer School at Rollins College.

He also worked for KPN from 1992 to 1999 in diverse roles and functions.

Aloys is a Dutch national and graduated at the Technical University Delft (Electrical Engineering), Nyenrode University (Business Economics) and Rochester University, NY (Executive MBA program, cum laude).

Reuben Slone joined OfficeMax in November 2004 as executive vice president, supply chain. He is responsible for inventory management, supply chain operations, real estate, and store development. Slone was most recently vice president, global supply chain for Whirlpool Corporation where he led the transformation of Whirlpool’s supply chain over the past four years. Prior to joining Whirlpool, Slone held various executive positions with General Motors in global supply chain, ebusiness, product development, manufacturing, and information technology. Before joining General Motors, Slone led global strategy, distribution, and information technology for Federal-Mogul. Prior to joining Federal-Mogul, Slone spent almost ten years in management consulting with Ernst & Young and EDS/AT Kearny.

Slone received a B.S. in engineering from the University of Michigan in 1984 where he graduated cum laude. In 1985 he received a Graduate Fellowship in Mechanical Engineering.

Slone has been widely recognized for his achievements in supply chain. Harvard Business Review published two of his articles: Are You the Weakest Link in your Supply Chain? in September 2007; and Leading a Supply Chain Turnaround in October 2004. Harvard Business Publishing is publishing his book, The New Supply Chain Agenda, based on the former article in MAY 2010.

Mark Woodward is responsible for leading E2open’s overall operations, including the company’s growth strategy, solutions roadmaps, and customer success efforts.

Mark served as President and CEO of Serena Software. He joined Serena pre-IPO in 1998 as the Vice President of America’s Sales, was promoted to Vice President Worldwide Operations and within a year was promoted to President/CEO. In this leadership capacity, Mark grew the company from under $50 million to $300 million with a 40%+ operating margin and one of the highest revenue per employee ratio’s in the industry. In 2006, Mark took Serena private in a deal worth $1.3 billion, the largest pure software LBO ever done.

Prior to his seven year tenure at Serena, Mr. Woodward was the SVP of Sales and Marketing at Live Picture where he was recruited by John Scully and the CEO to build the business model and the sales and marketing team for this pre-IPO start-up. During his year with the company he created a multi-channel sales organization comprised of direct and indirect sales channels and grew annual revenues from $3mil to $14mil.

Prior to Live Picture, Mr. Woodward was the VP of Sales and Operations at McAfee Associates where he championed a multi-channel sales strategy which grew license revenues organically from $60 million to $310 million.

Mr. Woodward brings over 30 years of technology industry experience focused on sales/marketing and general management. He attended UCLA and serves as a member of the Board of Regents for Archbishop Mitty High School in San Jose, CA.

He worked with Mercer Consulting in London and Company Assistance Limited in Warsaw earlier in his career.

His deep exposure to software technology coupled with his hands on application of it with large manufacturers, such as Honeywell, Jabil Circuit, Raytheon, Hewlett-Packard, Microsoft, Research in Motion (RIM) and many others, has resulted in a unique practitioners perspective on how manufacturers have regained control over an increasing volatile supply chain.

John oversees the design & development of the Kinaxis on-demand service as well as those teams responsible for its deployment and support. In the Fall of 2009, John’s leadership role was further expanded to include the company’s corporate and product marketing functions, which enables the company to benefit from a fully integrated and coordinated process for establishing the RapidResponse™ vision and taking it to market.

At Sony-Ericsson, Arpad was the supply chain solution leader. He helped Sony Ericsson to develop a global commercial strategy to increase market share in high-growth markets and enable profitable growth. Arpad helped Sony Ericsson to develop tailored fulfillment models and differentiated service offerings to high-growth and mature markets to optimize cost-to-serve and improve profitability. He reduced fulfillment time in Indonesia from 20+ days to consistent 7 days and reduced channel inventory by 14 days.

At Motorola, he was the supply chain solution leader and business architect of the $35M Global Supply Chain Transformation initiative. He lead the global implementation of Collaborative Planning and Forecasting, Advanced Global Planning and Flexible Fulfillment Execution Solutions. He helped the process reengineering effort at Fort-worth Customer Fulfillment Center to enable rapid ramp-up of operations and to become the highest performing DC for the company within 12 months. Arpad lead the ‘Supply Chain Value Assessment’ effort that helped to develop operational baseline for the companies newly established Supply Chain Service operation.

John serves as the Chairperson for the Supply Chain Risk Leadership Council and sits on Cisco’s Enterprise Risk Management Council. Peter is vice president and chief information officer (CIO) of Matson Navigation Company in Oakland, California. Founded in 1882, Matson is a wholly owned subsidiary of Honolulu-based Alexander & Baldwin, Inc. (NYSE: ALEX).

Weis has over 25 years of IT experience in the fields of transportation, logistics and supply chain management. As Matson’s CIO since 2003, Weis is responsible for driving the company’s IT strategy, ensuring that maximum value is achieved for both tactical and strategic IT investments.  He continues to lead Matson’s multi-year strategic IT investment cycle, which is aimed at refreshing Matson’s entire applications portfolio in order to enable business growth, reduce costs, and eliminate technology risks. Weis also provides IT services for Matson’s two subsidiaries, Matson Integrated Logistics and Matson Terminals.

From 2000 to 2003, Weis was vice president of products at GT Nexus, a provider of transportation management and supply chain software solutions targeting Fortune 500 global enterprises, ocean carriers, and service providers. His responsibilities included analyzing target markets, setting product development strategy, defining and designing new products, and working with the sales team and key accounts on strategic opportunities.

From 1985 to 2000, Weis worked for APL in a number of key IT positions, the last five of which were spent as vice president and chief information officer, APL Logistics. As CIO of APL Logistics, Weis had worldwide responsibility for the company’s IT organization supporting nearly 1,000 global users in 100 offices. He also led the building of its technology vision and strategy, including new products, alliance relationships, and revenue opportunities. Prior to this CIO role, Weis held a number of increasingly senior positions, including senior director, APL business information systems. This position involved worldwide support for all of APL’s applications and over 3,000 users, in a mainframe and client/server environment.

Prior to joining APL, Weis held technical positions with General Electric Consulting, Charles Schwab & Co., and Dow Chemical Corp.

As eKNOWtion’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Supply Chain Operations Excellence practice leader, Douglas has over twenty years of experience focused on the development, marketing and deployment of tailored supply chain solutions for companies across a wide variety of industry sectors.

Before joining eKNOWtion, Douglas was a Principal Consultant of management consultants Pittiglio Rabin Todd & McGrath (PRTM) and formerly served as the Vice President for the Integrated Material Services division of Avnet Inc.

Douglas is an MBA graduate from Pepperdine University’s School of Management and studied at Harvard University during his post-graduate years. Douglas is also a frequent lecturer and author of many Supply Chain articles. Through formalized business process reengineering techniques, Douglas drives Operations Excellence by utilising the Supply Chain Operations Reference (SCOR) model as the baseline for many improvement activities ranging from the initial diagnostic, through re-engineering and change management, benchmarking and continuing education. His approach stems from the unique combination of experiences as a successful practitioner, consultant and educator of Supply Chain best practices.
